BNP Paribas Cardif rewards ideas that improve client and insurance company relationship

Kick-off for Open-F@b Call4Ideas2016, the paneuropean contest dedicated to startups.
The third edition of the call4ideas will reward the most innovative ideas in the field of Customer Experience

Until October 17th innovators will a have a chance to participate in the third edition of Open-F@b Call4Ideas2016, the paneuropean contest organized by BNP Paribas Cardif , one of the top ten insurance companies in the Italian market, in collaboration with Insuranceup, the first website on digital innovation and entrepreneurship in insurance field, and Polihub, the Startup District&Incubator of the Politecnico of Milan.

Addressed to anyone who has an innovative idea (startups, technology providers, professionals, developers, students, etc.), Open-F@b Call4Ideas2016 is an open innovation project, launched for the first time in 2014, with the aim to find out the best technological and digital start-ups and develop partnerships with them. This year, the contest will reward the three best ideas able to improve the insurers customer experience in every step of the journey (pre-sale, sale, after-sale and caring), and innovate the relationship between clients and insurance companies. In particular, the 2016 contest will look for ideas, projects, apps and prototypes where digital services, social networks and gaming approach are used within the protection fields of family, home, healthcare and mobility in all its meanings.

Customer experience is a crucial topic for insurance market. In fact, according to the World Insurance Report 2016, more than one client out of two declares of not being quite satisfied with his/her insurance Company relationship. Discontent grows significantly among Millennials (66%), the 18-to-34-Year-Olds generation, born in the digital era and always looking for web-based services and smart&social way of interaction: three out of ten declare to use social media for insurance needs at least once a month. In a world that changes so quickly, BNP Paribas Cardif wants thus to invest in solutions able to make its clients Customer Experience unique, by predicting and fulfilling younger people needs too.

The inventors of the best ten projects, selected by a committee formed by BNP Paribas Group and BNP Paribas Cardif executives, professionals from Universities specialized in digital technologies and experts, will be supported for about a month by BNP Paribas Cardif managers who will be mentoring them in order to develop their project, accordingly to the market and Company specific needs. All ten finalists will then present their projects during a public event, held on the 29th November in Milan, where the three most innovative ones, according to the evaluation Committee, will be awarded.

BNP Paribas Cardif will endorse, then, the winners to reach their business aims by giving them the chance to realize a prototype and commercialize their product in Italy and even abroad, thanks to company managers and internal R&D support.
