Creating an environment conducive to a positive impact on people and the community: this is the approach followed by BNP Paribas Cardif, one of the top ten insurance companies in Italy, focused on the well-being of customers, partners, employees and communities thanks to its sustainable development policy.

A key topic, vibrant core of the fifth edition of Open-F@b Call4Ideas 2018, the international contest promoted by BNP Paribas Cardif, in partnership with InsuranceUp.it, offering innovators the opportunity to submit ideas and technological solutions with a positive social impact on individuals and the community as a whole until October 22nd. From the protection of the person and well-being thereof to health, from technologies to improve and simplify the lives of individuals to risk management education, broadening to the development of an ethical and sustainable economy, with tools to support the most vulnerable part of the community, to solutions aimed at fostering the sharing-out of mobility resources, thus reducing their impact on the environment, to company welfare and new ideas for a smart and eco-friendly city, to technologies to protect the most “defenseless” individuals exposed to dangers such as children, women and the elderly.

Innovative start-ups, scale-ups and businesses, the experience of entrepreneurs, the “freshness” of young students and the creativity of anyone with an innovative idea will be brought to bear in order to create a positive process of change having a positive impact on citizens, families and the community.

For entrepreneurs worldwide, too, relying on these factors is no longer just a “duty”, but also a key to success for their companies, as the Global Elite Entrepreneurs Report by BNP Paribas reveals: the positive impact, namely ensuring that business, investments and personal practices can improve the world, has led to some disruptions in the interests of entrepreneurs, with 55% having committed some of their assets to achieve results in terms of social responsibility and eight out of ten believing that entrepreneurship is the best way to generate a global or local impact, particularly with regard to environment protection.

The contest this year will also feature the partnership with Medici, the strategic consultancy platform for Fintech innovation, together with Scoop, the Open Innovation platform of the International Financial Services hub of BNP Paribas Group, to share, manage and promote the cooperation of startups across the business lines. The finalists of Open-F@b Call4Ideas 2018, selected by a panel made up of executives from the BNP Paribas Group and BNP Paribas Cardif, university professionals in the field of digital technologies and experts, will submit their innovative ideas during the final event. The winners will be supported by BNP Paribas Cardif’s R&D team in the development and implementation of their project, taking into account the needs of both the market and the Company. Applications must be sent by October 22nd, 2018 by filling in the registration form at: http://www.insuranceup.it/it/call4ideas.

All finalists can also be included in the MEDICI database, receiving a range of targeted marketing services, be presented to C Entrepreneurs Fund, the venture capital fund of BNP Paribas Cardif and be included in the Open Innovation Scoop platform provided by the International Financial Services hub of BNP Paribas Group.

The focus of Open-F@b Call4Ideas 2018 is in line with the strategic targets of BNP Paribas Group. The Bank, one of the top 100 companies worldwide in the field of sustainable development, has allocated €155 billion globally in 2017 to finance projects and initiatives that directly contribute to the achievement of the 17 UN sustainable development goals.
